Elections (BETAPHOTO/DRAGAN GOJIC)
Serbia’s unified voter register for a snap parliamentary elections scheduled for Oct. 25 has been finalized, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government announced on Oct. 10.
Under the Unified Voter Roll Act, once the roll has been finalized, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government can issue decrees to change the roll until 72 hours before election day. Citizens can check whether their names are on the roll and verify the accuracy of their personal information online, using the Ministry's official website, or in person at the relevant municipal or city administration office.
Outgoing Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Snezana Paunovic said her ministry is working hard to make sure that voter records are accurate, up to date and reliable.
The Ministry quoted her as saying that "transparency, responsible conduct and consistent enforcement of the law are the Ministry's priorities, with the aim of ensuring that every citizen can exercise their right to vote unimpeded."
