In the evening of Oct. 21, Belgrade’s denizens flocked to the city center to greet the processions of university students who spent the past several days marching to the capital from various parts of Serbia, all so they could attend the final Student Ticket – The Students Will Win campaign rally, to be held at Belgrade’s Slavija square on Oct. 22.
Arriving from the north, west and east, three columns of students and members of the general public, including some of the Student Ticket’s candidates, converged in front of the University of Belgrade Rectorate building.
They were greeted with fireworks, trumpets, applause and exclamations of “He’s done for!,” “Victory!,” “Pump it!” and “Goodbye, Vucic!” The center of the city was closed to vehicular traffic due to the gathering.
The final campaign rally of the Student Ticket is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Oct. 22, while the snap parliamentary elections will take place on Oct. 25.
