Radomir Saicic, an academician and MP candidate of the Student List – Students Win, said on Oct. 29 that the List’s goal is to form a cabinet without unnecessary delays or utilizing maximum deadlines, but that the process will also be approached responsibly and thoroughly.
“Among the [List’s] 250 candidates and large number of external associates for different fields, it will not be difficult to choose people with expertise to best lead the country,” Saicic told the NIN weekly.
The Belgrade U professor went on to explain that, while of diverse opinions and backgrounds, all Student List candidates share the same values when it comes to the rule of law, combating corruption, liberating the media and economic development.
The List’s goal for its cabinet’s first 30 days, Saicic explained, is to ensure the exchange rate stability of the dinar, the regular issuing of salaries and pensions and a stable power supply – which includes oil, natural gas and the unimpeded operation of public electric utility company Elektroprivreda Srbije.
“Institutional changes at the core of the mafia cancer are the first step, the prerequisite for all others. Then comes making [the previous government’s] contracts available to the public,” Saicic said.
The academician promised that all illegally gained assets will be first frozen, then seized as soon as due process is complete – which he hopes will “shed light” on things quickly, “because money always leaves a trail.”
