Democratic Party deputy leader Dejan Nikolic has told Belgrade daily Danas that all party members who run in the next elections will be expelled from the party. He thereby referred to the statement by the party former leader, Dragan Sutanovac, who has suggested that some top Democratic Party officials could organize group of citizens at local levels only to participate in the elections.

Democrats’ MP Radoslav “Kena” Milojicic has confirmed that certain party officials are preparing to run in local elections.

“All know who they are. I am personally against the boycotting of the vote, and should we all boycott or run in the elections? This is the worst possible situation which goes in favor only of President Aleksandar Vucic. I have the impression that someone from the Alliance for Serbia has been deliberately making these amateur mistakes to the benefit of Vucic. Moreover, Vuk Jeremic has warned that there is a squealer in our ranks who has been meeting with Vucic,” Milojicic has told Danas.

Asked who the squealer was, Milojevic said that an answer should be sought from People’s Party leader Vuk Jeremic.

Democrats’ MP Balsa Bozovic has also said that officials of certain parties, members of the Alliance for Serbia, have been preparing to participate in local elections, while in parallel advocating a boycott of the vote, which, he said, suited the Vucic regime. Bozovic has also declined to name those officials.
