According to exit polls incumbent Croatian president and candidate of the opposition Social Democratic Party Zoran Milanovic is poised to win the presidential elections in the first round with 51.48 percent of votes.
The runner up is ruling Croatian Democratic Union candidate Dragan Primorac with far less votes or only 19.29 percent. Exit polls show that independent candidate Marija Selak Raspudic won 8.84 percent of the vote followed by Ivana Kekin from the Green-Left We Can Platform with 8.33 percent.
Whether or not there is going to be a runoff between two of the eight candidates will be known late in the evening.
