U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned on March 8 that "Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik’s actions are undermining the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, threatening its security and stability," and called on regional partners to join Washington in opposing “this dangerous and destabilizing behavior."
"Our government calls on political leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina to engage in constructive and responsible dialogue. We urge our partners in the region to join us in opposing this dangerous and destabilizing behavior," Rubio said.
He was responding to Dodik’s latest moves - on March 5 Dodik signed laws adopted by the Bosnian Serb entity’s National Assembly, which prohibit the operation of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Office of the Prosecutor of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), and Bosnia’s High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council. The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a temporary measure on March 7, halting the implementation of these laws.
