At a time of rapid change and the need for urgent decision-making, cooperation remains the most efficient means to ensure stability, security and prosperity, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova said on June 10 at the opening of a conference of foreign ministers within the South East European Cooperation Process, taking place in Sofia.

The meeting included the foreign ministers of Bulgaria, Kosovo, Greece, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Turkey, Romania, Moldova and Slovenia.

During the conference, the ministers will exchange opinions on key regional issues, including the current situation in South East Europe, security challenges, and opportunities to bolster regional support and advance the process of European Union integration, the Bulgarian wire service BTA reported.

The SEECP is a regional platform for dialogue with the purpose of building trust, cooperation and neighborly relations in South East Europe. The initiative was launched in July 1996 in Sofia, when the foreign ministers of eight countries in the region adopted the Sofia Declaration on neighborliness, stability, security and cooperation in the Balkans.
