U.N.: Serbia ranked 64th in World Happiness Report, Finland in first place again

Serbia is in 64th place in the U.N. World Happiness Report 2020, which encompasses 156 countries. 

The report was unveiled on March 20 and does not include the period since the introduction of emergency measures due to the pandemic of the novel coronavirus. 

Serbia has been making progress on the list for two years now, since it was in 78th place in 2018 and in 70th place in 2019. Out of the former Yugoslav republics, Slovenia is ranked the highest in 33th place and has also made progress relative to the previous year, while Kosovo is mentioned separately, in 35th place. 

Next are Bosnia and Herzegovina (69), Montenegro (72), Croatia (79) and North Macedonia (90). Where South East European nations are concerned, Romanians are the happiest (47), followed by Hungarians (53), Greeks (77), Bulgarians (96) and Albanians (105). Finland is the happiest countries in the world for the third time in a row, according to the U.N. report.
