The Expo 2027 company said in a press release on March 13 that its call for bids for media services and advertising ahead of the specialized exhibition to be held in Serbia had been "directed" to all news agencies "via the public procurement portal," i.e. that that was where the call was published.
In a statement, the company said the procurement procedure for media coverage services had been carried out in line with the Regulation on the rules of procedures for procuring goods, services or work by "directing" the call to the Tanjug, Beta and Fonet wire services via the public procurement portal.
"The call was directed through the official public procurement portal system where all abovementioned legal entities are officially registered... Finally, we recall that a call for market research for media coverage services for the EXPO 2027 company was sent directly to the email addresses of the Tacno company, Fonet and BETA on Nov. 27, 2025, which the BETA News Agency did not reply to," the company's statement added.
On March 13, BETA reported that it had not received an invitation to submit a bid at any of its email or postal addresses, after it was announced that Tanjug won the Expo 2027 media coverage and advertizing job, and that Fonet and BETA never even applied. According to an earlier report by the Nova Ekonomija publication website, Tanjug was awarded the RSD4.2-million job (not including value-added tax), that is RSD5.04-million (with VAT) for media coverage and advertising services by the EXPO 2027 company.
