The social and political crisis in Serbia that flared up after the collapse of the outdoor concrete canopy at the Novi Sad railway station has reached an even higher level in recent days. Reacting to the escalation of tensions and the radicalization of protest actions by different opposition actors, the regime led by Aleksandar Vucic last week made several moves under pressure, but failed to mollify the anger of a considerable portion of the public. Certainly, neither the regime nor the opposition, nor each side’s supporters, will be ready to give in before the other side does so first.
