Political turmoil in Kosovo: Ruling Coalition Will Survive

Despite a serious dispute between key coalition partners in the ruling bloc, Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s Self-Determination and Isa Mustafa’s Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, the country’s new government, will survive, analysts in Pristina say. The Alliance has strongly criticized Kurti for refusing to lift unconditionally a 100-percent tariff on products from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which the previous cabinet, led by Ramush Haradinaj, had introduced. By accepting to remove the tariff, Kurti would pave the way for normalization talks with Serbia to continue, but he remains adamant not to.
