After the failed assassination of former U.S. president Donald Trump, Serbia’s senior officials, representatives of the Serbian Progressive Party and pro-government media outlets have focused on President Aleksandar Vucic, claiming that a similar scenario is in the works in Serbia and placing the blame for that on independent media. They did the same after the recent assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. This is a new wave of propaganda war that the Vucic regime has launched to crack down on independent media.
