Even though at the time this article was written Kosovo’s political parties were still waiting for a government starter pistol to kick off an election race officially on Feb. 2, they had been campaigning enthusiastically well ahead of a snap parliamentary vote scheduled for Feb. 14. On Jan. 30 the Central Election Commission confirmed all the candidates racing to serve in Kosovo’s eighth parliament. The Self-Determination Movement leader, Albin Kurti, and another two nominees from the same party are not among them.
