From his ascent to the position of most powerful political figure in the country in 2012 up until last week, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was not ready to make concessions to the participants of numerous and varied civil protests. Last week, Vucic decided for the first time to pull back and meet all the demands made by the demonstrators, after tens of thousands of citizens blocked for two hours the main motorways in many cities across the countries, as well as regional roads, on Dec. 4.
