The authorities and the opposition are entering 2022 strongly divided. Three months ahead of the presidential, parliamentary and elections for the Belgrade City Assembly, announced for April 3, the authorities are still not showing a readiness to truly lessen their pressure on opponents and the media. The main columns for participation in the elections have been formed within the opposition, but the grouping is not done yet. Serbia is facing a “hot winter” in political terms, since another point of contention between the regime and its opponents will precede the election campaign – a referendum on constitutional amendments.
