A recent move by the Untied Media to take over Montenegro’s Vijesti media house has confirmed the trend that local media outlets go into the hands of foreign-owned companies, largely connected with Serbian structures. The fact that most of Montenegro’s television stations that own licenses for nation-wide broadcasting, the most influential portals and newspapers are not locally owned opens the issue of foreign influence on internal affairs in the coastal country.
