Since fall 2022, Serbian agriculture has been shaken by unhappy producers over unpaid subsidies, low premiums and large-scale imports of milk and meat. Because of that, cow and pig farms have been forced to close, while producers are getting jobs in factories and “spooling cables” as they say for a living.
