Elections in four Serb-majority municipalities in northern Kosovo provided Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic with an occasion to use a sharp rhetoric regarding the West – primarily the Quint countries – for several days. The launch of procedure for the admission of Kosovo into the Council of Europe, which happened the day after those elections, additionally intensified the stance of Vucic and other top Serbian officials, not only where the leading Western countries are concerned but also in relation to the neighboring states of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
