This week’s resumption of the inaugural session of the new makeup of the Serbian National Assembly has shown that a relaxation of relations between the authorities and the opposition should not be expected, on the contrary. The election of former prime minister Ana Brnabic, who is one of the most vocal officials of the Serbian Progressive Party when it comes to insulting and demeaning opposition representatives, as the new parliament speaker, will probably further exacerbate the situation.
