Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic last week staged a “North Korean style” welcome for Chinese President Xi Jinping, which the opposition public assessed as de facto abandoning of European integration. Vucic denied such claims in the days that followed – with his address at a reception on the occasion of Europe Day, organized by the EU Delegation to Serbia, with the sudden and unexpected arrival of Ukraine’s First Lady and foreign minister in Belgrade, as well as with a three-day visit from the EU enlargement commissioner, the longest one so far.
