Emboldened by a convincing win in the June 2 local elections and further crumbling of the opposition, the regime spearheaded by Aleksandar Vucic has begun openly announcing the resumption of the lithium mining project in the west of the country, which was launched several years ago by Rio Tinto. Having prepared the public in late January for potential continuation of the Jadar project, Vucic is now taking a step further and saying that the mine could open in 2028.
