Serious differences and clashing views over the future of the European Union (EU), as well as the ways to make it stronger, which not only France and Germany, but a few more member states have echoed lately, are the reasons behind a decision to postpone for the spring of 2020 a consensual move by the European Commission to allow Skopje and Tirana to open accession talks with the Union.
When asked if the Western Balkans could continue to trust the EU, the president of the European Council, Donald Tusk, said it was a question for Brussels and European capitals, explaining that it is a moral duty of the leaders to correct the mistake made at the Brussels summit held on Oct. 17-18.
