In the absence of tangible results in the European integration process, desired progress in relations with Kosovo and a clear strategy for relations with the new Kosovo authorities, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is turning to new initiatives. So the idea of introducing the so-called mini-Schengen, which would allow the crossing of Serbian, North Macedonian and Albanian borders without a passport, i.e. with just an ID card, has been strongly supported and promoted in Serbia. Vucic and the Serbian media are touting it as a radical new solution that will improve relations, the economy and the lives of citizens of all three countries.
