Retired Belgrade university professor of literature Vladeta Jankovic, a former ambassador to London and the Vatican, has accepted the leading opposition coalition’s offer to run for mayor of Belgrade. Jankovic could bring a good result to the coalition gathered around the pivotal Freedom and Justice Party led by Dragan Djilas and the People’s Party led byVuk Jeremic by attracting a wider range of voters.
