The presidents of the Socialist Party of Serbia and the United Serbia, Ivica Dacic and Dragan Markovic, nicknamed Palma, signed in Belgrade, on March 4, an agreement to run together in Serbia's next parliamentary vote in April.
"The purpose of our coalition is to win over 11 percent of voter support," Dacic said at a ceremony hosted by his Socialists. The party leader said it was a great pleasure that the Socialists signed a coalition agreement with "a friendly and brotherly party, and his friend, Dragan Markovic Palma."
The United Serbia leader said that his party had never made a mistake, adding that "the most positive thing they have ever done was to have signed a coalition agreement with the Socialist Party of Serbia in 2008, a party that has lasted 30 years," Markovic said.
