New Party leader Zoran Zivkovic said on March 11 that the measures the Serbian government enacted on March 11 on the occasion of the declared coronavirus pandemic were not enough, "rather in the fight against infection spread the reaction must be much more decisive," including considering the postponement of the elections called for April, which the New Party will run in.

Zivkovic proposed that classes be suspended in all educational institutions immediately, from the elementary to the highest level of education, "because that is the best prevention," as well as that stricter medical control be introduced in kindergartens.

He also said that "as a smart measure in the interest of citizens, the elections should be delayed for a month, along with all election activities, deadlines and campaign, so that all potential participants in the elections may have equal status and conditions, while primarily protecting citizens from potential infection," reads a New Party press release.
