World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has promised to Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic that WHO would help Serbia in line with the available resources.

In a phone talk, Dacic informed Ghebreyesus about the disease situation in Serbia and the government’s coronavirus countermeasures, according to a release from the Foreign Ministry on March 17.

Dacic expressed the concern that a rise in the number of coronavirus cases could trigger shortages of critical medical equipment, testing kits and disinfection products and asked the WHO general-director to provide medical supplies to Serbia.

Ghebreyesus said that now, the entire world required solidarity more than ever before, as all had been stricken by the disease, which could be combated only in a joint effort.

According to a release from the Serbian Health Ministry on March 17, 65 people have been tested positive for coronavirus in Serbia so far.
