A petition called, For Vucic to Shut Up, and Let Experts Speak", was signed by over two and a half thousand people on March 26, the Let's Not Drown Belgrade Initiative announced on March 26.

The Initiative said it had launched the online collection of signatures to point out the necessity of timely, truthful and clear information for citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Initiative said that it was very important  in times of immediate danger such as these that people who knew what they were doing were given room such as doctors, epidemiologists, experts to inform citizens in a calm and clear way.

"Instead of that, we have a heap of contradictory information that cancels itself out each day. This is how people lose their faith in expert guidelines, which leads to irresponsible behavior. Serbia has enough professionals and experts who can defeat the pandemic, but politicians should leave them enough space to do their jobs," the Initiative said.

The For Vucic to Shut Up and Let Experts Speak petition demands that the COVID-19 pandemic not be used for political purposes and that experts be allowed to speak and provide concrete information and recommendations.
