EU Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimovic on March 31 sought from the EU Delegation to Serbia additional logistics support for 10 freight flights, which should bring medical devices and supplies to Serbia.
Joksimovic said that the support should be provided from the funds under the Civil Protection program and the program for increased resilience to respond to emergencies, worth EUR7.5 million and carried out by UNDP, according to a release from the government.
She thanked the EU on its support, currently focusing on the procurement of the necessary equipment - respirators, monitors, masks, and other necessities and facilitating freight flights for delivering these supplies to Serbia, it is said in the release.
The release also recalls that Joksimovic, Head of EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi and UNDP Resident Representative in Serbia Francine Pickup on March 20, signed an agreement on EU’s support, worth EUR7.5 million, to Serbia in coronavirus containment effort.
