Vojvodina health secretary Zoran Gojkovic told a news conference at Serbia Palace that a criminal report had been filed against the 47-year-old director of the Gerontology Center in Nis, who was arrested on April 13, for grievous crime against public health, which carries imprisonment of up to 12 years.

Gojkovic said that 140 of the 256 residents of the Gerontology Center were Covid-positive, as were four employees, and added that a number of employees were still being tested.

He said the situation was the consequence of "an unfortunately very unprofessional attitude and not following regulations."
