Ministry: EU Website Corrects Inaccurate Claim about Tesla's Origins

The Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information said in a press release on May 11 that the official website of the European Union was no longer calling scientist Nikola Tesla "a famous Croat" after an intervention from the ministry.

The ministry expressed satisfaction over the correction, especially as the content is an interactive game whose purpose is youth education.

"We hope that such mistakes will not happen again as this is not the first time that the ethnicity of the world's famed scientist is presented incorrectly -- in different circumstances, but with the same motives," the statement noted further.

The claim was made in a text posted in the "learning corner" of the EU web presentation.
