Doctor Mirsad Djerlek, coordinator of the General Hospital in Novi Pazar, on July 7 said that in the past 24 hours, another five persons had died of coronavirus related complications.
He told a news conference that three females and two males had passed away, and that all had suffered from other illnesses.
“Currently, eight patients are on ventilators, and three had been transported to tertiary care centers over the past 24 hours. During this time, 29 patients were hospitalized, and now we have 363 patients in the Covid-19 care center. By the number of patients, we rank second or third in Serbia,” Djerlek said.
He stressed that there was no need for panic and that it was necessary to preserve tolerance and full cooperation between medical staff and patients. “We will strive to have as few as possible deaths in the entire region of Sandzak, as any life saved is priceless. The situation in Novi Pazar has been stabilized and we are now working to stabilize the situations in Sjenica and Tutin,” Djerlek said.
