The EU Info Center has released a statement saying a shipment of 10,000 high-quality sanitary masks which were delivered by truck from the EU's RescEU medical equipment warehouse in Romania had reached the fire department in Belgrade.
This is the first shipment of RescEU equipment to Serbia, while the masks were taken over by the Interior Ministry's emergency management sector.
EU Ambassador to Serbia Sem Fabrizi has said that "this is another concrete expression of continuous support during difficult times, through one of the many EU solidarity mechanisms which Serbia now is a part of."
"Since March 2020 we have donated ventilators, respirators, tests, protective gear and triage containers to help Serbia save lives and overcome its health crisis. We have also offered a financial package for supporting Serbia's economic recovery," Fabrizi said, adding that the EU was with Serbia in this difficult time and that they would overcome the crisis together.
