Ten More People Die from Coronavirus in Serbia, 359 Newly Infected

In the last 24 hours 10 more people died from consequences of coronavirus infection, bringing the total death toll since the start of the epidemic to 482.

Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar told a July 20 press conference that 8,349 people were tested in the aforementioned period, of whom 359 tested positive. He added that 4,772 patients were hospitalized, 190 of whom were on ventilators.

The minister said that there were currently 6,623 active cases in Serbia, including 550 medical doctors, of whom 50 were being treated in hospitals. He also said that 558,440 people in Serbia had been tested since the beginning of the epidemic, and that 14,148 people had recovered from the infection to date.

Out of the total number of deceased, men account for around 64 and women for just over 35 percent. Where the age of the deceased is concerned, 0.72 percent of them were in the 20-29 bracket, 8.6% in the 40-49 bracket, 28.67 percent in the 60-69 bracket, 27.96 percent in the 70-79 bracket, and 18.64 percent were aged 80 and older.
