The president of the Serbian Movement Dveri (Doors), Bosko Obradovic, told BETA on Sept. 16 that the authorities' being afraid of the dialogue was the sign of their own weakness and that they were more inclined towards negative campaigning against their political opponents than towards any kind of social dialogue.
Commenting on the announcement of the director of the Open Society Foundation, Milan Antonijevic, that the dialogue between the authorities and the opposition would resume within "several weeks or months," Obradovic said that the authorities might stage a repetition of a show-dialogue with false opposition, "but that will be a lie, just like their elections, their parliament and their government."
The Dveri leader said that he had been on a hunger strike in front of the Parliament for 11 days demanding, among other things, a dialogue between the authorities and the opposition "so that we would avoid the undemocratic and unconstitutional elections and reduce tension within the society."
The representatives of the People's Party, the Democratic Party and the Freedom and Justice Party did not wish to comment on the announcement about the resumption of the dialogue between the authorities and the opposition.
