At a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Oct. 12 in Luxembourg, Croatia requested that a special EU ministerial session be held on the Western Balkans, explaining that unresolved challenges had existed in the region for a long time: the Serbia-Kosovo relations and the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman said this regarding an explanation of developments in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue provided to the foreign ministers by the special envoy for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.
Grlic Radman said he hoped that "Kosovo and Serbia will manage to reach a comprehensive agreement (on their relations), because the current state of affairs is unsustainable."
The Croatian minister said that the "Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is not the only challenge, as 25 years since the making of the Dayton Accords, we must help Bosnia and Herzegovina deal with trials on the European path." "That is why I ask that a comprehensive debate be held at one of the future ministerial sessions of the EU, on the challenges in the Western Balkans," Grlic Radman stressed.
