Prime minister-designate Ana Brnabic on Oct. 20 met with representatives of the Socialist Party of Serbia and the United Serbia party and the Serbian Patriotic Alliance (SPAS) to discuss a future cabinet.

At 8 am at the government building, Brnabic met with the leaders of the Socialists- United Serbia Party coalition, Ivica Dacic and Dragan “Palma” Markovic, who did issue press releases after the meeting.

Later, Brnabic met with SPAS leader Aleksandar Sapic. After the meeting, he told reporters he was happy with the meeting, adding that it would not be fair to reveal details before a session of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party’s Presidency, scheduled for 5 pm on Oct. 20.

The Serbian president and the Progressives’ leader, Aleksandar Vucic, has earlier said that potential options for a future cabinet are a coalition with the Socialists with the United Serbia party and minority parties, a coalition with the Socialists and the United Serbia party, SPAS, and minority parties, and a coalition of the Progressives with only minority parties.

The names of new cabinet ministers are expected to be known after the Progressives’ Presidency session. Under the Constitution, a new cabinet must be formed by Nov. 3.
