Kosovo Premier Avdullah Hoti said on Nov. 6 that, after Hashim Thaci's stepping down as Kosovo president, Kosovo institutions must maintain their stability and that they were prepared to cooperate with the Assembly, adding that wisdom and vision were needed to overcome the situation.
Hoti told an emergency session of the Kosovo cabinet that the cabinet ministers were prepared to work with the international community and institutional stakeholders, and that he expected them all to show high political culture.
We must show wisdom and vision to get out of this situation, I'm confident that we will emerge unsullied, Hoti said, noting that the government of Kosovo believed that the resignation of the president called for shoring up the stability of institutions and pledged that the cabinet would cooperate with all institutions and the international community.
According to him, the people of Kosovo fought to defend their land, while Serbia was the aggressor.
Hoti praised Thaci's cooperation with international justice, and that of former Kosovo Assembly speakers Jakup Krasniqi and Kadri Veseli, and Self-Determination Movement whip Rexhep Selimi.
The four have been charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Kosovo and Albania, and are currently detained by the special international court adjudicating Kosovo Liberation Army crimes.
