Montenegro's newly-elected prime minister, Zdravko Krivokapic, officially took over prime ministerial duties on Dec. 7, having succeeded Dusko Markovic.
The former PM said on Twitter that his duties of office were now Krivokapic's.
"Today's meeting and the formal transition of duties confirm the democratic context, maturity and credibility of our politics. Let's hope that the new government will work in the best interest of Montenegro and all its citizens," Markovic tweeted.
The Montenegrin parliament supported the new government's platform and Krivokapic's 14 picks for the cabinet, as opposed to 22 ministers working under President Milo Djukanovic's Democratic Party of Socialists. The Democratic Socialists are now an opposition party, after 30 years in power. Unlike previous governments, minorities are not represented in the new cabinet.
