Serbia’s Prime Minister Ana Brnabic got vaccinated against COVID-19 on Dec 24, thus becoming the first person to do so in the country.

Right after Brnabic, Serbian Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Minister Darija Kisic Tepavecevic was also immunized at the Torlak Institute in Belgrade.

Serbia has received a total of 4,875 doses of Pfizer-BioNTeck vaccine, and it has been announced that the first citizens to be inoculated against the coronavirus will be the residents of nursing homes.

Kisic Tepavcevic had announced before being vaccinated that she will demonstrate the safety of the vaccine by being among the first persons to receive it.

She pointed out that the doctors have been trained and are ready to administer the vaccine to the wider population, adding that the vaccine has been proven to be harmless and without severe side effects.
