The Covid-19 vaccine rollout will begin at more than 30 locations and some 110 vaccination points on Jan. 5, state public broadcaster RTS has reported.
On Jan. 4, Serbia received 19,500 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech shots, following a batch of 4,875 jabs that arrived on Dec. 22, 2020.
According to an earlier statement of Health Ministry State Secretary Mirsad Djerlek, some 8,500 health workers and 2,500 people in nursing homes should be vaccinated by the end of this week.
Djerlek also said that Serbia would receive 80,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech shots in January and that large batches of vaccines from Russia and China were also expected to arrive.
He added that the number of coronavirus cases could grow as of Jan. 10, but stressed that “the health system is prepared.”
