15 people died from the consequences of the coronavirus in Serbia in the past 24 hours, while 1,932 new infections were registered, the Health Ministry announced on Feb. 3.
There are 4,002 covid patients in hospitals, 153 of them on ventilators.
Since the start of the epidemic in Serbia, 40,837 people have been infected and 4,071 have died.
Immunologist Srdja Jankovic assessed on Feb. 3 that "it is not yet time" for easing the epidemiological measures, because the number of newly infected "has been stable for a while now" in Serbia.
"The virus has not weakened. When it has room to spread, it uses it, and it is up to us to prevent that," Jankovic stated, as conveyed by the portal B92. He assessed that, despite the mass vaccination "progressing well," the reaching of collective immunity in Serbia was "still far away."
