Self-Determination Wins Snap Vote in Kosovo with 49.95 Percent of Votes

The Central Electoral Commission of Kosovo has announced that the winner of early legislative elections in Kosovo on Feb. 14 is the Self-Determination movement with 49.95 percent of the vote or 58 seats in the Assembly.

The runner-up is the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 16.9 percent of votes or 19 seats in the Assembly. After that comes the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo with 12.64 percent (15 seats) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo with 7.078 percent or eight seats.

The Serb Ticket assumed fifth place with 5.06 percent of the vote and 10 guaranteed seats. The Social Democratic Initiative won 2.5 percent of votes which is lower than the threshold for entering the Assembly.

The Commission also announced that the Serb Ticket won 10 seats. Parties and individuals now have 24 hours to file complaints with the election panel for complaints about the final result of the election. The panel has 72 hours to rule on the complaints.
