Nenad Rasic has found himself in the limelight in Serbia and Kosovo for saying that his son was beaten by a group of young men in Laplje Selo on Feb. 22 for political reasons. The Kosovo authorities swiftly arrested seven youths who were placed in custody for 30 days.
Belgrade and Rasic’s political opponents in Kosovo itself strongly denied that the beating was politically motivated claiming that it was prearranged and that there were about a dozen youths involved on each side. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic claimed that the fight was “over a girl,” and that school was out that day.
