37 people died from the consequences of the coronavirus infection in Serbia in the past 24 hours and there were 5,297 new infections, the Health Ministry announced on March 24.
There are 243 people on ventilators among the 6,349 covid patients in hospitals. Since the start of the epidemic in Serbia, 5,039 people have died and 566,669 have been infected.
Epidemiologist Branislav Tiodorovic stated on March 24 that, according to latest figures, the biggest percentage of new infection cases was among people from 30 to 35 years of age and that the highest death rate was among people older than 65.
Tiodorovic told the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) that the epidemiological situation was "difficult" and that hospitals were almost completely full.
