The Sputnik V vaccine, which will be produced in Serbia, is intended chiefly for the domestic market, Serbian Minister of Innovation and Technological Development Nenad Popovic said on June 3.

"However, of course, Serbia will help everyone in the region for starters, but also others elsewhere in the world," Popovic told Serbian state TV. Popovic, who is currently in Russia, has said that Belgrade will be receiving the ingredients for producing the vaccine soon and that its production was slated to begin on June 4.

"It is being transported in special containers at a temperature of two to eight degrees Celsius, while upon arriving in the Surcin airport it will be shipped off to the Torlak Institute. Everything there is ready for production," he stressed, adding that Serbia would produce four million doses of the vaccine in the next six months.
