Several European Union (EU) member-states have refused to recognize the Indian made AstraZeneca vaccine which was administered in Serbia last spring, meaning that everyone who received it will also have to present a negative Covid-19 test or stay in quarantine upon entry into these states.
The German embassy in Serbia confirmed in a comment for the Danas newspaper on July 24 that the AstraZeneca vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India which was administered in Serbia would not be recognized as a valid vaccine for Serbian travellers.
The vaccine named "covishield" is not licensed by the European Medicines Agency (EMA), because the manufacturer hasn't applied for a license. The EMA licensed the AstraZeneca vaccine produced in the EU under the name "vaxzevria."
Cyprus and Denmark only recognize EMA approved vaccines, as well as Lithuania and Malta, which otherwise recognize the Serbian green certificate with a QR code.
