47 people died from the consequences of the coronavirus infection in Serbia in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 8,234, it was announced on the covid19.rs web-site on Sept. 30.
7,540 people were found to be positive for the virus among the 23,991 people tested. There are 6,304 covid patients currently being treated in hospitals, 241 of them on ventilators.
For the past seven days, Serbia has been the first in Europe and the fourth in the world according to the number of new infections per million people, the latest data shows on the web-site worldometers.info.
In the past seven days, a total of 47,897 new cases of infection were registered in Serbia, and the biggest number of infections was registered in the period from Nov. 28 to Dec. 4 last year, when there were 50,946 new infections in seven days, TV N1 has reported.
