64 people died from the consequences of the coronavirus infection in Serbia in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 9,698, it was announced on Oct. 27.
According to figures of Serbia's Institute for Public Health, 24,490 people were tested in that period and the presence of the virus was confirmed in 6,948 cases.
There are 6,791 covid patients currently being treated in hospitals, 277 of them on ventilators. Since the start of the epidemic, 6,230,395 people have been tested and 1,118,905 were positive for the virus.
Professor Vladislav Vukomanovic stated on Oct. 27 that the four children on ventilators at the Mother and Child Institute were still in a rather bad state. He told RTS that the number of examinations of children with covid-19 symptoms was had doubled in this wave of the coronavirus.
