On Nov. 12, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic will, as part of her continued visit to Paris, speak at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) General Assembly and at a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the organization.
Brnabic gave a speech at the Paris Peace Forum, which gathers numerous leaders of international organizations and presidents or prime ministers, on Nov. 11.
The prime minister said that in her address at UNESCO she would again raise the issue of Kosovo and Serbia's cultural and historical legacy, and the churches and monasteries in Kosovo that are under UNESCO's protection.
"We are for a clear depoliticization of UNESCO, and at this moment we have full support and understanding for [the notion] that the provisional institutions in Pristina as such cannot be a member of UNESCO at this time, and so regardless of the lobbying of one side or the other I believe that we will manage to maintain the status in that sense and defend ourselves from those attacks," Brnabic told reporters in Paris on Nov. 11.
Brnabic will also talk with UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay.
At the Elysee Palace on Nov. 11, the prime minister attended a dinner organized by French President Emmanuel Macron, who is also the founder of the Paris Peace Forum, the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS) reported.
